Check your pay over summer!
There are a few things for IEU members to look forward to in their summer pay packets:
Annual Leave Loading
All members employed in Victorian Catholic education, as well as many working in independent schools with IEU-negotiated Agreements will receive Annual Leave Loading in December. This payment is calculated as an additional 17.5% paid on four weeks of your normal pay - or approximately 1.34% of your annual income. Annual Leave Loading is paid on a pro-rata basis for those who have worked less than a full year.
Position Allowance
This payment equivalent to 1% of your annual salary is paid in Victorian Catholic education to teachers, Education Support staff at or above Level 2.8 and deputy principals. It will be an additional payment added to your first pay in December.
Salary increases
All staff in Victorian Catholic education will recieve their six-monthly 1% salary increase from the start of January. Staff on fixed-term contracts or commencing a new job should also have a salary assessment which may lead to an incremental increase from the start of the 2025 school year - those employed on an ongoing basis who are entitled to increment up the salary scale will do so from 1 May.
In Tasmanian Catholic education, if the draft Agreement is endorsed and approved then salaries will increase by 3% in March, with an additional $1000 payment for lower-paid employees.
Most members in independent schools will also be recieving salary increases in the early months of 2025 - if you are covered by an IEU-negotiated Agreement you can find the details here (Victoria) or here (Tasmania).
